I am a novice when it comes to SSL certificates and needed some information for my soon to be ecommerce site. My webhost indicated they would install it once I purchased it. I see prices from 12.99 (Go Daddy) to 500 (Thawte) for them? Why so much difference? Also once it is installed by the webmaster how do I make the shopping cart or personal information pages SSL (https) while leaving the other pages with general information non-secure (http)? Once the certificate is installed is this difficult to do when I upload my site on the server? This would be a Front Page site with a shopping cart on a Linux Server. Please expalin in novice terms as I am not familiar and I thank you for looking.
